Bolen Website Analytics 7/20 to 7/26

On the plus side, there’s plenty of room for improvement. It shouldn’t be difficult to move the numbers.

You can see the actual Google Analytics report here.

The actual traffic numbers aren’t terrible. We don’t need huge amounts of traffic, as long as it consists of our target prospects, and we convert some percentage of them.

There were 52 visits, 35 of them were unique. If just 10% of those had converted (registered and downloaded a white paper), that’s three conversions. If one third of those responded to a follow up call, that’s one customer. I’m not going to reveal the average revenue per customer, but if Bolen had 50 new customers per year, I’d be very pleased.

3 page views per customer is OK. It depends which pages they looked at, and for how long.

The average time on the site was one minute and 39 seconds. That needs significant improvement. Either the traffic generated wasn’t appropriate (that’s my guess), or the content wasn’t compelling enough.

A 40% bounce rate is not acceptable. Again, that indicates that traffic generated weren’t target prospects.

Looking at where the traffic came from, 11 were direct, which means they typed in the URL (or clicked thru from The Funnel newsletter link).

Another 11 came from this blog. That’s a good thing.

Another 11 came from the Google search engine.

Five came from TheBuyingGroup.com. That’s good.

Four came from an article directory. That’s interesting. I’ll definitely need to put more focus on posting articles.

Three came from 82 Degrees Tech. It’s nice to see that my volunteer work as Events Chair there is paying off.

Now the keywords. The news isn’t good here. Bolen Communications had two click thrus and 10 more keyword phrases had a single click thru. None of those phrases are in my Google PPC campaign. I have a lot of work to do.
