Lessons Learned and Tasks To Do

I know it sounds corny, but it’s true. The conference last week was a life-changing event for me. So much of what I learned from the pros (and these people are truly at the top of their professions) coincided with what I’ve learned on my own and what I’ve been espousing to my clients. The puzzle pieces fit together.

I’m sensitized to the terms, but it’s true that I heard RELEVANT and USEFUL and, especially, CONTENT over and over again. I’m used to hearing those terms in a B2B content marketing context, but this was an online SEO/SEM/email marketing context. If I had any doubts before, they’re gone now. I’m in the right place, at the right time, doing exactly the right thing.

So what’s next? I start deploying, beginning with the home page. What that means is rewriting the Title, Headline, Sub-heads and copy using the new keyphrases that are more appropriate (but not overly competitive) for what Bolen does. And I have to write a new positioning paper. This will be relevant and useful content for people who are looking for a B2B SEO copywriter. Registering for and downloading that paper will constitute a conversion goal in Google Analytics.

I know what. I’m just not sure about when. I have work to do for clients and only so many hours in the day. I know the rest of today is booked solid and so is tomorrow. So it’ll be Thursday by the time I implement the above.

Please stay tuned.
